The California Homeschool Network is the only inclusive statewide home-schooling organization with an elected Board of Trustees. California Homeschool Network (CHN) was founded in 1994 by a statewide group of home-schooling families. We are an inclusive group, which means we serve families from all religious and ethnic affiliations that practice all home-schooling styles.
We are an all-volunteer organization of energetic and dedicated homeschooling families working to preserve our own educational freedom. CHN monitors and responds to legislation which may pose a threat to homeschooling. We also inform and empower homeschooling families, educate the public, and foster community among home educators in the state of California.
The Christian Home Educators Association (CHEA) of California, Inc. is a non-profit ministry established in 1982 to provide information, support, and training to the home education community throughout the state, to advance the Kingdom of Jesus Christ by promoting private Christian home education as an outstanding educational opportunity; providing information, training and support to the home-school community; and protecting the God-given right of parents to direct the education and training of their children, to the glory of God.
CHEA labors year round on behalf of home-schoolers by hosting an Annual Convention each year; co-sponsoring many other events throughout the state; providing an extensive website that offers news, information, articles, and many resources including how to get started and teaching high school manuals; providing Membership opportunities such as discounts, etc., and protecting your rights.
Founded in 1987, the HomeSchool Association of California (HSC) honors the diversity of all home-schoolers; supports the entire spectrum of home-schooling; provides information; monitors and influences legislation; offers opportunities for families to get together and empowers families to make the choices that respect the rights, needs, and aspirations of their children.
