Texas Home School Coalition

Texas Home School Coalition is the authority in Texas on home schooling. Our coalition of three organizations positively impacts the lives of more than 100,000 home schooling families in Texas.

Since 1986, we’ve been working to secure and maintain the liberties of Texas families through advocacy and service, as well as influencing the political processes that determine law and policy relative to home schooling families and parental rights in Texas.

Our staff and volunteer network of more than 100 Texans with home schooling experience is what makes us the experts in all aspects of home schooling in Texas. And we’re here to serve you!

Our Board of Directors, publications, and values are distinctively Christian, while THSC serves all home schoolers in the state of Texas, regardless of ethnicity, religion or creed.

Christian Home Education Association of Central Texas

The purpose of the Association is two-fold. First, to provide a Christian support group for parents and others involved and/or interested in teaching their children and to encourage the high standard of excellence throughout all the membership. Second, to further the appreciation of home schooling in the community through education and media communication.

Family Educators Alliance of South Texas

The FEAST Organization has been an integral part of home schooling in Texas since the mid 80s, when a few families partnered together to determine how best to educate their children at home. FEAST has always been a leader in assisting families to discover home schooling as an option for their family and to encourage home school families to grow and complete the calling to home school.

From the moment you walk through the front doors at FEAST, as you walk down the halls, you sense something different, something unique. You feel the spirit of God, of family, of love, of cooperation, of staff greeting you like old friends. A place where children are welcome and a crying baby is never a bother. FEAST has grown over these past 30+ years and continues to grow. That early mission statement of being a clearing house for home schooling information has grown also into a clear mandate from the Lord that our mission is to promote and support the benefits of parent directed education.

Greater Houston Area Home Educators

Greater Houston Area Home Educators (G-HAH) has been a communications network for home educators in the Houston area since 1994. It has served as a major communications hub for all home educators in the Greater Houston area, bringing together all facets of the community. Our support organization is established to nurture and cultivate the grass roots of home education through events, communications, and partnerships meeting the needs of the groups and home educators.

In 2014, G-HAH merged with SETHSA (Southeast Texas Home School Association Christian service organization established to minister to the home-schooling community in the greater Houston area). SETHSA was dedicated to the rights of parents to choose the type of education that is best for their children and to ministering to those choosing to pursue a home-based, parent-directed alternative since 1983. With this merger of communications and service arms, the Greater Houston area has a full functioning regional group that is established to grow home-schooling in the Houston area.
