Although Earth’s surface is dynamic and ever-changing, our planet’s rocky surface still bares the scars of ancient, massive meteorite impacts. Such impacts have triggered multiple chains of events that dramatically changed life on planet Earth. In this interactive virtual field trip, students will visit some of the locations of Earth’s past interactions with asteroids, use “NASA’s Eyes” to observe the main asteroid belt, and explore the DART mission’s kinetic impact technique, which will be used during NASA’s first planetary defense mission test.
